in the summer of '03 the szuplats purchased property
on 12 vacation lane.
found here will be details of putting a structure up
written mostly by erica and photographed a lot by ben,
however like most things in life there are exceptions....
for instance ben wrote that last useless sentence.

stach puts the final touches on the Quietside on-demand
hot water heating system. this is for our domestic hot water supply
and baseboard heat. stach has worked latelate several nights and
days to get the unit installed. we hope to get and pass our final
plumbing inspection tomorrow.
ben stands here with his hand under the hot water (!!!!)
and yells to stach in the basement as they fine tune the water
temperature.
we were lacking in a decent pic of the front steps
until today. there have been many small projects in preparation
for our final building inspection.
we are blessed with our first flower, a ladyslipper!
JUNE 3
we are lucky with the rainbow over our house- we passed
our final plumbing inspection!!!! we thank stach for the many
many many hours he put in, especially at the end fine-tuning our
heating system! we also have water filters in our lines and can
get nice clean water to drink right at the tap:
you can also see the beautiufl window designed by ben,
in the right hand peak of the house, three blue stained glass
circles!
ben gives the hairy eyeball and suspicious looks as
he leans on the shelves he built to divide the kitchen from the
computer area! note the shelves above hanging from the ceiling!
i have put insulation on the hot water lines in the basement and
now we await the visit from the building inspector. when we pass
our final building inspection, we will be able to get our occupancy
permit. there are a few small things we are aware may need to
be attended to, but wonder if there are others... stay tuned to
see when we get to move in!
june 4!
11:30 a.m.
the building inspector signs our permit; passing us
for the final building inspection!!!!!!!!!! i head to town hall
and turn in all our paperwork to get our use and occupancy permit!!!!!
i run into a glitch at town hall, where one form is MIA. i make
several phone calls, try town hall once more ("can you look
again???") and wait to hear from the person who was supposed
to bring the missing paperwork to town hall....
later june 4
hello faithful readers... ben here. those of you who
thought you were reading into the future i have now corrected
the dates above so that they are happening in "real time"
and not by erica's calendar (i am not sure where she shops but
i do not recomend them). again i will have to throw erica under
the bus as somehow she has dated pictures june 6th when it was
only the 4th. now the update on the missing paperwork...still
missing. updates on the solution to come!
stay tuned for the big news!
JUNE 7, 2004!!!!
at 4 p.m. eastern standard
time, erica picked up the USE and OCCUPANCY permit at town hall!
of course, these renegades had been
sleeping at their new home, with their newest friend:
cygnus
since friday night!
JUNE 16
cygnus here wanted to take
you on a tour of the new residence!
we have unpacked most of our stuff this past week.
our old apt. is emptied and cleaned and we only have a few more
items stored in stach and peggy's basement.
our own basement has been relatively organized-- it
feels as if there has been so much going on- too much to write
about, and yet, essentially we could say simply- we moved! ben
has continued on our long list of to do's and bartopped the bar
tonight! these pictures are just a tease as you will have to come
see the real thing--
Now for the announcement we've all been waiting for!
